Did I share my defining moment with you? The one where I realized the ideal life I had created for myself came crumbling down around me?
I’ve had many defining moments in my life as I’m sure you have too. This particular one I’m referring to was a biggie.
I found the joy and freedom of having my own business, married my soul mate, and by the grace of God we had a child at age 42. I had it all. Life was not just good, it was outstanding…or so I thought…
One day, after giving to my coaching clients all day, giving to our young toddler, and giving to our household – I realized I was empty, completely and totally empty.
Who was going to give to me? When was it my turn? What about my needs?
These questions flooded my mind as tears streamed down my face. The tears quickly turned to sobbing and before I knew it, I was on my knees, wondering where I went wrong.
After I recovered from this breakdown, I realized the only thing I did “wrong” was not giving enough to myself.
It was so simple and yet so powerful.
Has this happened to you?
It’s like you knew something all along but a big blanket was thrown over it. I believe this happens because we are not ready to receive certain messages. So they remain covered.
What messages are you ready and open to receiving?
Are you being called to take on more responsibility? Do you need to let go of some things to achieve a greater sense of peace and balance? Is there an under-performing employee that needs to be coached or counseled? Is there a toxic person in your life that you need to set boundaries with?
I would love to hear your thoughts. Please share in the comments below!
